I’ve written this during the last 24-hours under the influence of insomnia and a stomach ache. Since the Scorchster has allowed ‘any’ rating, I’m going for a non-NC-17 version. If there is major protesting, you can stalk me for an upgrade later & I’ll add the missing scene.

After a week of trying to get the Slayer out of his head, Angelus exited Willy’s bar having spent a considerable amount of his time there. Apparently, several bottles of Irish whiskey were not enough to wipe out the memory of what the Soul had experienced with Buffy and that left him determined to find something that would. He sauntered off down the street almost certain that Crawford Street was in that direction, his thoughts wandering almost as much as his footsteps.

Twenty minutes later, he found himself in front of the Bronze. Angelus glared accusingly at the bright neon lights outside of the club. “Why am I here again?”

Just then Cordelia Chase stumbled out the front door calling out over her shoulder to the small gathering of young men who had been watching her dance. “Goodnight!”

One of them broke away from the crowd, sending the others a nod and a knowing grin, casually strolling toward Sunnydale High’s head cheerleader. Having slipped a little of the real stuff into her drinks all evening, the brunette appeared primed and ready for a little action and he planned to take full advantage of the situation.

“I think you need a designated driver,” the blond football player latched onto her arm and tugged Cordelia toward her Corvette.

“I’m it,” Cordelia answered disdainfully. She stared down at the hand holding her arm attempting to pull it loose from his grasp. “Let go.”

Leaning close, his hot breath brushed against her ear, “Not a chance, Chase. It’s about time you put out a little.”

“Good idea,” Angelus commented as he clapped his hand over the boy’s shoulder and squeezed until he heard his collarbone crack.

Cordelia jerked out of the boy’s loose hold staring at her rescuer and watching as he sent the burly football player crashing to the ground. Several of his teammates ran over to help, but even drunk Angelus managed to throw them off. The bouncer from the Bronze called out a warning to end the fight threatening to call the cops.

As if Angelus cared about that. No, he was far more interested in the curvy brunette who might prove just the thing he needed to get the Slayer out of his thoughts for a while. It was about time to give Cordelia Chase what she’d been after since they’d first met…him.

Finding her here was a perfect coincidence, though he wasn’t even capable of thinking beyond the fact that she embodied everything he needed at the moment: a bedmate, revenge and dinner.

Turning around, Angelus swayed on his feet, “Whoa! Who put that merry-go-round there?”

When the road stopped wavering, he glanced around for his victim only to find that Cordelia was not in his immediate line of sight. Chuckling, Angelus called out to her, “Cor-de-li-a! Come out, come out wherever you are.”

“As if!” came an automated response from some distance away. Not exactly thinking straight, Cordelia found staying silent an impossible task.

“I’m coming,” he called out a little warning hoping she’d run. Angelus loved it when they ran. Chasing was fun. Chasing Cordelia Chase would be even better.

Answering again, Cordelia countered as she darted out of her hiding place behind a parked car, “I’m going.”

With a speed that left him a little woozy, Angelus cornered her just as Cordelia was making a run for her Corvette. “Gotcha!”

The sudden appearance of the vampire startled her into throwing her arms up in a defensive position. Her keys flew out of her hand and rattled against the blacktop somewhere in the darkness behind Angelus. “You scared me, dumbass.”

“Meant too,” Angelus pointed out. “A demon’s gotta get his kicks somehow.”

Crossly, Cordelia put her hands on her hips. She wasn’t going to take this kind of crap from him or anybody. “Stand still. I’ll give you a kick you won’t forget.”

“Save the cheerleader moves for later, babe,” he leered licking his lips in anticipation as his mind took a little trip imagining just how flexible she could be. Dressed in a body-hugging red dress and stiletto heels, Cordelia’s curves called for his attention. “Know what you are tonight? Succulent vamp bait.”

“You’re just a big fat jerk.”

Angelus frowned at the comeback. He glanced down at his solid frame running his hands down his chest. Her words rattled in his hazy brain. “I am not fat. Come feel me.”

For an instant, Cordelia actually pondered the idea of running her hands all over that hunk of salty goodness. Oh, yeah. Did there have to be clothes involved? But…no, he was Angelus. Bad vampire. Bad, bad vampire.

“You’re just trying to trick me,” Cordelia looked decidedly pleased with herself for coming up with that response. Hah! You go girl.

Flashing her a genuine look of confused innocence that Angelus could only manage in his inebriated state, he told her, “No, I’m not. Not a bit of fat on me.”

Cordelia gazed up and down his leather-clad form. Not that she could see from here. Clarifying, “I meant you want to grab me.”

“Ohhh,” Angelus understood, but now that he did wasn’t about to tell her the truth about his plans for her. Reminding her, “I just rescued you. Just checking to see if that little prick hurt you. I’m not planning to grab you.”

She was just a little buzzed, not stupid. “Yes, you are.”

“Uh-uh,” the swift denial sounded on his lips.

“Uh-huh.”

“Don’t think so,” Angelus shook his head only to stop when it made him dizzy.

Cordelia suddenly looked perturbed. “Why not? Something wrong with me?”

“Not from what I can see…all three of you,” he narrowed his gaze trying to focus on which version was the real one. “Triplet Cordelia. Mmm. That could be fun.”

Waving her hand in front of his face, still more than arms length away, “There’s only one of me, buddy. I’m more than enough for you to handle.”

“If you insist,” Angelus leered in that sexy way that sent a shiver of lust down her spine. “That could be fun too.”

“As if!”

“As if what?”

“Obvious much? As if I’d let your bloodsucking vamp paws anywhere near me,” she told him like he’d really give her a choice in the matter.

Angelus didn’t scent fear, just the sweet scent of strawberry shampoo, the soft hint of perfume and the cloying mix of fruit and liquor. Still, he taunted, “Afraid?”

That got her. Cordelia thrust her shoulders back, held her head so that her cute little nose stuck in the air and her breasts just stood out begging for his hands to map out their curves. Not that she sounded like she was begging at the moment. “Afraid of you? Pfft! Cordelia Chase is afraid of no one.”

“Prove it.”

Staring at his handsome face, Cordelia tried to pretend she hadn’t heard the sensual tone or the challenge behind those words. “Huh?”

“Prove it,” he enunciated the dare a little more slowly. Waggling a finger in Cordelia’s direction, Angelus told her, “C’mere a second.”

Eyebrows arching into a high curve, Cordelia asked curiously, “Whatcha gonna to do when I get there?”

“Whatcha think?” he returned with a playful smile twitching at the corners of his too tempting mouth.

“Duh!” Cordelia figured her question had been redundant. Scornfully, she told him off for suggesting she’d actually walk closer, “Bite me! I’m not coming over there.”

“Damn, how’d you guess?” Angelus muttered wondering if he was being obvious. He chuckled as if he hadn’t been thinking about the way the moonlight cast shadows on the line of her throat. “I’ll do something else. C’mere.”

Attempting to think what other possibilities Angelus might come up with, Cordelia’s addled brain couldn’t manage anything that did not involve something really, really bad or really, really good. Just the thought of the latter made her beg for details, “Like what?”

“C’mere and find out. You’ll like it,” Angelus promised thinking he’d certainly like it too.

“Huh.”

Stubborn little vixen was just defiant enough to turn him on instead of irritate him. She just needed to figure out he was the master of this relationship, even if it was going to be a short one. A low rumble sounded from his chest as he met Cordelia’s glassy gaze, “Get over here.”

“Pfft!”

“Don’t make me come get you,” he warned never considering the fact that normally he would have already carried her off to some dark alley and had her up against the wall.

Cordelia didn’t know who said, “Try it,” but it certainly sounded like her own voice issuing that dare. Hoo-boy did Angelus ever answer it too, swaggering up with that swishy black leather coat to stand scant inches away.

As Angelus stared down focusing his attention on those lush red lips, he saw them curl into a satisfied little smirk. What the hell was that? He did the smirking around here. Then he realized she’d made him come to her.

“Tempting little tease,” he touched a finger to the tip of her nose. “Why are you on your own tonight? Harris trade you in for a newer model cheerleader?”

That wiped the smirk off her face, Angelus noted instantly. He’d struck a sore spot. Times like these made him love his demon instincts.

“Don’t say that name,” Cordelia grumbled. “I’m having nothing to do with him anymore. I broke up with him.”

Angelus always wondered what she saw in the creep. He would’ve dropped her in an instant if it meant he could get into the Slayer’s tight little pants. Oh-ho! Maybe that was the case. “Did Buffy need a little TLC and look to her own personal White Knight to provide it?”

“Oh, she’s after him all right,” Cordelia huffed, “along with the rest of the females in Sunnydale. They can have him.”

That made no sense. Women actually wanted the Harris kid? For what? Angelus just couldn’t come up with a remote possibility. “Buffy and who else?”

“I told you,” Cordelia threw up her hands in exasperation, “everybody, even Willow.”

That the little redhead might choose Xander Harris did not shock him, but that he would choose her over Cordelia made no sense at all. “Willow? He’s with Willow instead of you? Always knew he was a stupid idiot.”

In total agreement, Cordelia nodded, “No kidding.”

“I wouldn’t pick Willow over you,” Angelus assured her uncertain why he suddenly felt the need to share that information.

“Like that would normally be an issue?” Cordelia gave him a pointed stare and then issued him a tougher question, “What about Buffy?”

The name dredged up memories of feelings Angelus had been trying to suppress and that pissed him off. “The Slayer? Blonde bitch thinks she can walk all over me. I’ll show her. Gonna let her know who really runs this town.”

Poking him in the chest with her finger, Cordelia leaned in to tell him, “Buffy will kick your ass all over Sunnydale.”

“Won’t.”

“Will too!” Cordelia stuck out her tongue.

Grumbling that she actually imagined Buffy could beat him, Angelus figured it was time to start teaching the saucy vixen a lesson or two. “Maybe I’ll just start with her friends. How about you?”

“What about me?” she unconsciously shifted her weight to her other leg moving her hips in a way that drew his gaze down to her long supple limbs.

Cordelia felt a wave of heat crawl up her body as Angelus’ hot stare inched up to her eyes again to meet her with a lustful look that could not be mistaken for anything else. As if he was offering a choice, Angelus asked, “Wanna be mine, baby?”

“Eew! No,” came her swift answer though her body tingled in defiance of it.

“Dontcha wanna get back at Harris?”

Geez, why did it sound so tempting coming from him? This was Angelus. Not exactly Buffy’s Angel anymore, was he? Struck speechless by the question, Cordelia yearned for a little payback. She didn’t know how or why Xander was suddenly man-of-the-town, but she’d seen one too many lips plastered on his today to care about the reason.

Sensing her confusion and the mild stirrings of arousal, Angelus lowered his voice to an intimate level. “C’mon, Cor-de-li-a. I know you want me.”

Her hazel eyes flashed defiantly. “Do not.”

“Oh yeah,” Angelus knew it without a doubt.

Cordelia shook her head until she had to grab onto his shoulder to stop the dizziness from overtaking her. Still spinning a little, she denied softly, licking away the sudden dryness of her lips, “Uh uh.”

Closing his hand over hers, Angelus moved it from her fingertips to elbow and back up again, so gently that he impressed himself with his ability to make her step just a tad closer. Then he reminded her that wanting him wasn’t something new, “Always have.”

“No way,” she snatched her hand away rubbing the tingly sensations he left behind.

“Yes you have,” Angelus wanted to hear her admit it. Hell, why deny it now, anyway? “You’ve wanted this body since you first laid eyes on me. Chased after the Soul who was too fucking stupid to take what you offered.”

“Did not.”

Turning her back on him might not have been the smartest thing for Cordelia to do, but then neither was having this conversation to begin with. Judgment had no part in this and it was all she could do to stop herself from letting the truth spill out of her mouth.

“You did,” Angelus countered knowingly. After all, he’d been there smothered by that goody-two-shoes soul striving to attain and maintain a high moral caliber. Well, fuck morals. He had no need for them now.

He sidled up to her back keeping his hands at his side, but letting his body lean in to hers as he waited for her next response. Angelus dropped his head closer sniffing the combined scents that made him want to taste every inch of her.

“Did n—,” Cordelia’s head snapped toward his. “Are you sniffing me?”

“You smell fruity and delicious,” he admitted and then wondered why that phrase sounded familiar. “I want to taste all of you. Everything your delectable body has to offer.”

Twirling around to face him again, Cordelia huffed hotly at his assumption that she was going to let that happen. “I’m not offering you anything, buddy.”

He’d just as soon take it as let her give it up, Angelus smirked as the thought came to him. That’s what he’d normally do. So why was he tempted by the thought of this defiantly beautiful brunette submitting to him of her own free will? He just wasn’t thinking straight, that’s all. Sort it out later. For now, just go with the flow. “Make a deal with me.”

“You let me go and I don’t tell Buffy,” responded Cordelia with a nod. That was deal enough.

“No, no,” he shook his head. “Forget about Bluffy the Manpire Player.”

“Vampire Layer,” corrected Cordelia with a snort.

“Just the one time,” Angelus confessed before he got back to the more immediate subject of them. “No running, no hiding. Just you and me.”

“Huh,” Cordelia secretly enjoyed the little thrill that passed up her spine. Not that she was going to admit it. “Like I’d trust you.”

“C’mon. Just for fun. You. Me. Tonight,” Angelus’ voice dripped with sensual promise.

Cordelia glared back at him concentrating on appearing to be totally disinterested in his suggestion. “Like that’s supposed to entice me.”

Boy howdy! Did it ever entice. It made her brain fog up with thoughts of wanting him that had no business being there.

“Let me show you just what this body can do to yours,” he ran his fingers along the curve of her hip. “You’ll never look at Xander Harris the same way again. I’ll erase any thoughts you ever had about wanting him.”

“Who?” Honestly, Cordelia couldn’t think past the promise shining in those dark eyes. Her body hummed at his closeness.

“Come with me, Cordelia,” he urged with a roughened needy tone. His body was far from immune to hers. Every little reaction from her drew a response in the form of escalating need. “Give yourself to me and I’ll give you a night to remember.”

Swaying closer, she closed her eyes to the touch of his hand against her hair turning her face into his open palm. Angelus automatically moved in to press his mouth upon the exposed turn of her throat, warm and pulsing with life. The instant she felt his cool touch on her neck, Cordelia’s eyes snapped open and she jerked back enough that it startled him.

“No biting!”

Had he agreed to that? Angelus couldn’t recall, but he had said something about a deal. “Just a nibble or two.”

Cordelia tried to consider whether there was a difference, but thinking just came too hard. So she told him, “No nibbling.”

“Aww, Cord-eeeeee,” whined the vampire as she stomped her foot. “No fair. Just a little nip.”

“No. Nuh uh. Nada on the nipping, nibbling or biting,” Cordelia laid down the ground rules. “Deal or no deal?”

So they’d do it without a deal, Angelus shrugged telling her, “I can play nice. Wanna find out?”

“Only if you behave,” Cordelia grabbed the sleeve of his leather jacket pulling him toward her car.

Angelus tried to stop from sniggering at the idea. Behave? That’s no fun. “What do I get out of this?”

She slapped him on the chest, “ME, doofus.”

“Oh, yeah,” Angelus figured he’d have her in more than one way before the night was over. Then he saw that she was standing next to the car waiting expectantly.

Where were his manners? Reaching for the door handle, he tugged, but it failed to open. He tried again, but the door wouldn’t budge. He growled at it, but that had no effect.

“It’s locked,” commented Cordelia. “You need to find the keys.”

Remembering he didn’t need any manners, Angelus pointed out, “They’re your keys. You find them.”

“You made me drop them. Besides, it’s too dark out here to see without super-duper vampire vision,” she crossed her arms and waited.

Glancing around, Angelus spotted them under the car. When it became clear that the brunette wasn’t going to budge as Cordelia started to whine about ruining her new designer dress, he mumbled that he planned to rip it off of her anyway. Good thing she didn’t hear. After retrieving the keys, they spent several minutes arguing about who was going to drive.

“You don’t know where I live,” Cordelia claimed. “Besides, you’re drunk.”

“So are you.”

“Am not. I’ve been drinking virgin margaritas all night.” She pouted when Angelus started laughing. What was so funny about that? Was it her choice of drink or the fact that she’d said the word ‘virgin’?

Angelus leaned in, “I know exactly where you live, but what makes you think we’re going there?”

“Where do you think we’re going?”
He concentrated for a moment, answering, “To the mansion.”

That idea was O-U-T. “Creepy Crawford Street? No way Jose!”

She was still saying yes to their little deal, so Angelus figured he’d play along. “We’ll go to your house.”

“Well yeah,” Cordelia rolled her eyes. “There are no icky cobwebs or insane vampires around.”

“Gotta invite me in,” he reminded.

Cordelia shrugged and readily agreed. “Okay.” The potential repercussions of such an invitation were nowhere to be found and she certainly didn’t bother to go looking for any.
