It seems that in doing so, she has lost all sensitivity or concern for others.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cSo, we have to put up with it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cYes. Unless\u2026There as to be another answer. It just doesn\u2019t make sense that the Powers would want her to be cruel and apathetic or want Angel to become isolated again. It defeats the purpose of the scrolls prophecy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cWhat\u2019s wrong with the vamp?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cYou saw him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cAll he said was that he wanted to be alone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cYes, he is closing himself off again. There has to be another way.\u201d Wesley headed for his books. He stopped and turned politely to Fred. \u201cUm, Fred. I can\u2019t go to your lecture. I think someone should stay with Angel and I would really like to take the opportunity to research this some more.\u201d Wesley looked at Gunn.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cCome on girl, you can impress me with your brains.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cYou\u2019ll go?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cWouldn\u2019t miss it. It\u2019s just not fair.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI\u2019ll try.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b>Chapter nine <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Wesley stretched his neck, rubbing at his eyes. He was missing something. He had to be. Lorne seemed sure of what he had been saying and it had made sense in a depressing, bizarre way. But it couldn\u2019t be what the Powers wanted. Wesley picked up the phone.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">***<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cYou rang.\u201d Lorne entered the hotel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI want you to read Angel\u2019s aura.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cBring him by, have him sing a tune.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cHe won\u2019t go anywhere.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Lorne signed deeply and sat in the chair next to Wesley. \u201cMuffin, there\u2019s no point in reading Angel\u2019s aura. It\u2019s not like it\u2019s gotten all-colorful. And the seer\u2019s seems just grayly fine. Look, Muffin, I know this is not fun and no one is cheered but Cordy will stay alive. She can handle the visions, now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cLorne, Angel is upstairs right now burying himself behind his own dark walls. If that continues he won\u2019t ever be ready for the Prophecy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Lorne got up. \u201cMuffin, I like the big lug, really. But when will you all realize this isn\u2019t about Angel. The Powers ditched the Shansu thing when they early released him. They didn\u2019t bring him back, he brought himself back to the grayness.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cThis is as much about Angel as it is about Cordelia. They need each other; the powers need them, but not like this. You said that Cordelia had been on her way to becoming a seer that prophecies were written about. Well they did write about her, in the scroll. She is or was the humanity that would lead Angel to his shansu. That\u2019s not happening now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cShe had to lose her connection.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cYes, yes-the grayness. But there has to be another way for her to maintain it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cThere isn\u2019t.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI think there is. Look, Cordelia maybe as gray as demon right now, but she isn\u2019t one. Eventually, the colors will come back. \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI saw her aura, it\u2019s solid.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Wesley rubbed his forehead. \u201cYou know about auras and souls, I know about a human beings need for self protection, their ability to push their feelings aside. Those feelings are pushed aside, ignored, but not gone, never gone. Something will happen that will put a crack in those walls that Cordelia has built and that something will most definitely have to do with the vampire upstairs. And when that happens, everyone will suffer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Wesley flopped back down in his chair, rubbing at his neck. God, he was tired.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cEven if you\u2019re right, there is no other way.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cYou said both Cordelia and Angel were anomalies. A human seer and a vampire with a soul. They have what each other needs to be complete.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cThe comshuck option as come and gone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI\u2019m not talking about that. All that did was transfer the visions. I saying Angel has the gray that Cordelia needs and she has the colors that he needs.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cWe\u2019re not talking about trading cards here, but souls. It doesn\u2019t work that way.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI think it can. I think I have found the way.\u201d Wesley gave Lorne the scroll and pointed to the passage he had been reading.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Lorne read the passage over. He raised his eyes. \u201cIt\u2019s too risky.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI know.\u201d Wesley buried his head in his hands.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b>Chapter ten <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Cordelia walked into the hotel. \u201cHello.\u201d She waved to Wesley, Gunn, and Fred.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cCordelia, you came in?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cDuh, I work here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cYeah, but yesterday you said the ghost was more fun.\u201d Gunn said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cHe is. But, I need the paycheck.\u201d Cordelia sat down at her desk, pulling out another magazine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cUm, Cordy. Angel seems to be all better.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cTold you. That\u2019s what happens, Angel gets hurt, he sleeps, and he gets better.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI\u2026.\u201d Fred looked nervously around.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Cordelia shrugged.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cCordelia there is no reason to be rude.\u201d Wesley said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Cordelia rolled her eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI swear I\u2019m going to smack that expression off her face.\u201d Gunn whispered to Wesley.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Cordelia sighed. \u201cFine. Fred how was your lecture?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Fred startled and eagerly looked at Cordelia. \u201cUm, it was good. Gunn went with me. The professor said\u2026..\u201d Fred stopped as Cordelia buried her head back into the magazine. Fred flinched. \u201cUm, never mind. I going to go to the library now.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Wesley watched the young woman run out of the hotel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cCordelia why did you ask, if you weren\u2019t going to listen.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI was being polite.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cIt\u2019s only polite if you are sincere.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cWould you all just leave me alone? It\u2019s not my fault if ditzy cave woman is too sensitive for her own good.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cCordelia, Fred admires you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cOr did,\u201d grumbled Gunn.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI didn\u2019t ask for it. Like I want her following me around. Geez. She still has no concept of makeup or fashion. Dweebsville.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cCordelia\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cOuch,\u201d Cordelia squeezed her eyes shut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cCordelia?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cAspirin please and you better wake up sleeping vamp.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI\u2019m here.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cSo, you are.\u201d Cordelia accepted the pills and water from Angel. \u201cEvil vampires getting ready for buffet in the underground lot of the Mall.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cAre you all right?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cYep,\u201d Cordelia looked at the vampire. \u201cJust a headache.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Angel nodded. \u201cLet\u2019s go.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cSure.\u201d Wesley and Gunn got up to follow.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cThat was a vision?\u201d Gunn whispered. \u201cShe didn\u2019t scream, shake or fall or anything.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cYes, isn\u2019t wonderful.\u201d Wesley shook his head and went to the door.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Cordelia went back to her magazine as soon as the other\u2019s left.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><b>Chapter eleven <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Cordelia was heading out of the door when Angel, Wesley, and Gunn returned. \u201cWell, you all look better than you did last night. Good night.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Angel shot out his hand stopping Cordelia from passing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Cordelia looked at his hand then up to his face. Her brow arched. \u201cI\u2019m going home.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI want to talk to you.\u201d Angel continued to hold her arm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cAngel, I don\u2019t think you should.\u201d Wesley said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI would have to agree with Wesley.\u201d Cordelia said. \u201cI don\u2019t want to talk to you now. Now, I want to go home. My job is done here for the night. Let me go.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Angel ignored Wesley and pulled Cordelia to Wesley\u2019s office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cAngel, don\u2019t.\u201d Wesley voice dropped in defeat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cHey, maybe Angel can wipe that bitchy expression off Barbie\u2019s face.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cThat\u2019s what I\u2019m afraid of.\u201d Wesley shook his head and went to his books.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">***<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI don\u2019t appreciate the cave man routine.\u201d Cordelia shook her arm.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Angel released her. \u201cI want to talk to you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cObviously, but I don\u2019t want to talk to you.\u201d Cordelia opened the door to leave.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Angel\u2019s hand shot out slamming the door. \u201cGive me five minutes, then you can go home.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Cordelia closed her eyes. She would listen to him. She wouldn\u2019t get angry. She couldn\u2019t get angry; she felt nothing. Cordelia straightened and faced Angel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cSo talk.\u201d Somewhere in the back of her mind, Cordelia noted that Angel\u2019s expression and dark eyes gave nothing away. He was as emotionless as she felt. Cordelia forced back the twinge of something that accompanied the realization.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cYou can\u2019t care about me or them. I understand that and can live with that. But they can\u2019t. So, pretend if you have to. Be polite at least. That\u2019s all I wanted to say. You can go home now.\u201d Angel opened the door.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Cordelia refused to react. She took a deep breath and walked out. Cordelia said nothing to either Wesley or Gunn as she picked up her purse. The front door slammed she left.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Angel blinked once, and then he gathered his many years of solitude and wrapped it around his soul and heart cloaking them, protecting them from pain and love.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Wesley appeared at the doorway. \u201cAngel.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI\u2019m going upstairs.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cNo. You\u2019re going to tell me what happened.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cNothing happened.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cSomething happened. Both you and Lorne seem to think that Cordelia\u2019s ability to rebuild her walls mean that she has no feelings and will be safe from the dangers of the visions. But Cordelia didn\u2019t turn into a demon or a machine. She still is a young human woman with feelings. And it only takes one crack and then she is too weak to survive the visions. And you Angel will be that crack. An anomaly. A gray that you can lose as your soul begins to embrace humanity. The demons, the half-demons, the other seers who are gray can\u2019t do that. Their humanity if they have any doesn\u2019t strengthen. Your gray is incidental. You don\u2019t need it or want it if you\u2019re ever to become human. Unfortunately without Cordelia\u2019s humanizing influence on you, you\u2019re stagnating, regressing. You need her and she needs you. She needs your gray, a gray that existence isn\u2019t because she is forcing her emotions, her humanity in to a dark place.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cI can\u2019t help her. And that was his interpretation. But, I believe that he was wrong. It was nothing but a tactic albeit a dangerous one, but still just a tactic to allow Cordelia to build up all of her walls, so that the next step could be done.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cStep?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Wesley took a deep breath. \u201cFor you to be able to share or give your grayness to Cordelia. And Cordelia can\u2019t do it by herself, maybe if none of this had happened, I mean everything from the hellmouth to now, she would have eventually worked through her need for her self-protection. But, she can\u2019t do that now. No. All of her protections will have to be destroyed\u2026.by you. \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cNo. I won\u2019t do it. It\u2019s too dangerous. That gray is just malignant. Knowing what she has been through during our acquaintance and friendship is frightening enough. Whatever happened to her before that I don\u2019t want to know. But regardless, we don\u2019t have time for Cordelia to work through whatever it was by traditional means. Those walls must be destroyed for the transference to take place. Her trust for you has been real, just not complete. It was the evil that he had committed as Angelus. But, what happened to Cordelia couldn\u2019t have been anything that she had done.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Something had been done to her. Angel closed his eyes trying to imagine Cordelia at his Kathy\u2019s age. Free and innocent until an outside evil destroyed them. Angelus killed Kathy. But whatever touched Cordelia left her alive, but dead inside. Angel needed to know what had happened. He needed to know where his rage could be directed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u201cAngel.\u201d Wesley saw Angel\u2019s acceptance of what he was saying and the anger that accompanied it. \u201cAngel, why is not important, revenge is pointless. The only important thing is Cordelia, now here in the present.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Angel bit back his growl. Cordelia was what was important. But, Angel you\u2019re also going to have to let yourself be vulnerable to her. The trust has to be mutual.
